Bugatti was founded in 1947 in Germany by Friedrich Wilhelm Brinkmann and his wife Margot.  

Starting with men’s and women’s clothing, Friedrich Wilhelm Brinkmann proceeded to collections of coats and trousers. It wasn’t until 1978 the brand Bugatti was born in its official sense.  

As the name suggests the brand was inspired by the luxury car brand and holds a similar commitment to technology and innovation, precision, clean lines and elegance. The company continued to expand, and in 1991 they launched their first shoe collection.  

Fast-forward to the current day and it’s fair to say that Bugatti shoes are international in every sense of the word. From the very start of the design process where their trend scouts travel to the world's major cities to gather inspiration to their designers who are based in Switzerland, Spain, Italy and Germany. When it comes to production this is undertaken in India and China, with the leather and soles being largely produced in Europe with some special components, such as insoles and adhesives, being supplied in Germany. Quality is central at each stage, as Bugatti’s manufacturing process adheres to the European quality standards.
